IN THIS LESSON

  • Vocal Performance Anxiety is an ongoing apprehension towards or during vocal performance.

  • VPA typically manifests with a mixture of physical, cognitive, and behavioural, and can reduce our achievable performance level.

  • We need a level of physical activation to perform at our best, but sometimes our mind overinterprets that as a threat rather than as helping us rise to a positive challenge, creating more anxiety than may actually be due.

  • Some individual aspects and traits can make us more prone to higher levels of VPA, but all of us can help to bring our VPA levels to a more balanced level with the right preparation and tools.
