Chapter 1 - What Vocal Performance Anxiety (VPA) Is
IN THIS LESSON
Vocal Performance Anxiety is an ongoing apprehension towards or during vocal performance.
VPA typically manifests with a mixture of physical, cognitive, and behavioural, and can reduce our achievable performance level.
We need a level of physical activation to perform at our best, but sometimes our mind overinterprets that as a threat rather than as helping us rise to a positive challenge, creating more anxiety than may actually be due.
Some individual aspects and traits can make us more prone to higher levels of VPA, but all of us can help to bring our VPA levels to a more balanced level with the right preparation and tools.
